Guide: How do I distribute my music through TunePartner?
Updated over a week ago

We are glad to hear you would like to get started with distributing your music through TunePartner. Hereby a quick guide how you are able to do so. We made distribution as easy as possible, so you can have your music on the DSPs without any hassle.

Once you have registered your account you can get started.

First you click on 'Catalog' which you find in the menu at our left, search for this icon

Then you are on the 'Releases' page, here you find a button 'Create new' which brings you to a page where you are able to create your new release. This works for singles, EPs and albums.

You have to firstly upload your tracks, you do so by clicking on the option menu under 'track list' and then going to 'Upload new tracks', in one go you can upload all tracks you would like to have included in your Release.

Now your tracks appeared in red in the 'Add tracks' section. Here you can get started with adding all metadata we need for each track. In case you already filled in the metadata for one Track you can choose to pre-fill some of the details automatically from this Track.

Please fill in:

  • Title version if applicable (in case you want to include anything in your title like Live, Remix, Remastered, Mashup, Slowed etc. it needs to be added in this field and NOT in the Track Title.

  • Add all artists you want to have featured in the song metadata (if there are more than 3 primary artists you should select 'Various Artists', also fill in here if you already have an Artist profile on Spotify and Apple Music or if you would like us to create a new profile for you

  • Select the Primary and Secondary Genre of the song

  • Select a Previous/Clip start time

  • ISRC: Add your own ISRC or select 'no' so we assign an ISRC to the song

  • Explicit Content Warning: Select if the track lyrics/title/cover is explicit

  • Lyrics: You can add your track lyrics here

  • Writers & Publishers: add all writers and publishers, make sure to add this correctly as this is needed to eventually collect your additional royalties

Once you did this for all tracks, you are able to continue to the next step. The Release information.

Add your Cover art, this may be a JPG, JPEG, PNG or JFIF file.

If the cover or any tracks are explicit make sure to add the 'Parental Advisory' logo on the cover.

Now you can continue adding your Release details. You can choose to pre-fill release information from song metadata to automatically have already some fields filled in.

Please fill in:

  • The language of your Release metadata (not the song language but the metadata you fill in for your Release, for example your Release title)

  • Release title

  • Add all artists you want to have featured in the Release metadata (if there are more than 3 primary artists you should select 'Various Artists'), also fill in here if you already have an Artist profile on Spotify and Apple Music or if you would like us to create a new profile for you

  • Select the Copyright Information of the Release, fill in who is the copyright owner and in which year the copyright is made/registered

Congratulations, if you followed all those steps you finished creating your first release!

Now the only step there is left to send it to the DSPs you would like to have your release on. You do this with a few clicks.

  • Go to your Release and click on 'Distribute'

  • If you hover over the DSPs you see a select box in front of the DSPs logo, select all the DSPs you would like to have your Release on

  • Click on 'Options' and then 'Distribute', or click on 'Distribute all' if you would like to have your Release available on all DSPs
โ€‹if you get any warnings read them carefully before continuing with distribution, make sure all warnings are solved before distributing your release

  • Select the Release Start Date, this is the date when your Release should go live on the DSPs. (Keep in mind that after sending the release we will still need to review it, and after approval the stores still need to process it, so to be safe don't select a date sooner than 6 days in the future)

  • Choose in which countries your Release will be available

  • Click on 'Distribute' and accept our Distribution Agreement

Now your Release is in our Inspection queue, we will review it within 24 hours and you will be informed through e-mail if it's sent to the selected DSPs or if we have any feedback for your Release which is needed to be changed before we can send it to the DSPs.

After approval your Release will be on the DSPs within 48 hours if you selected the Release to be send to the DSPs 'as soon as possible' (for Apple Music, Spotify and TikTok this can sometimes takes a few days longer, up to 5 days)
