What Are the Requirements for Creating an Artist Name?
Updated over a week ago

When creating an artist name, it’s important to follow specific guidelines to ensure consistency and professionalism. Below are the key requirements:

1. Accuracy:

  • Use full, standard name spellings for all artists and credits across all content.

  • The spelling of names must be correct and consistent throughout the entire recording and related content.

  • Artist names must not include any additional information such as roles, dates, instruments, former bands, websites, etc.

  • Emojis or non-language symbols are not allowed in artist names.

2. Compound Artist Names:

  • Each artist field should contain only one artist name. For example, using "Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder" as a single artist name is not allowed unless it is part of a recognized brand name.

  • It is acceptable to use the name of a production house, label, or studio as the artist name for content. For instance, "MGM Studio Orchestra" or "EA Games Studio Orchestra" are allowed

By adhering to these guidelines, you ensure that your artist name is properly formatted and recognized across all platforms.
